Chapter Three
Twisted, foul creatures followed behind her, eyes glowing with
devotion and hatred. For the day had come, the day that she would
speak to the One.
She arrived at the Evil himself. His dark bronze skin, light red eyes
and bronze hair seemed a strange glass in a land of dark. Like all
glass she thought, it can be broken.
As she got nearer his eyes were unfocused. For he viewed the Darkness
making sure none of the demons broke his laws. Fist curled up in
anger. A thought burned in her mind, "Die"
As she neared he looked up. His face spilt into a crooked grin.
"Raven, it has been a long, long time. You haven't come to see me for
ages." Standing out of his dark throne, "Come by to play a game,
perhaps?"
For a slight moment she saw pain in the devils eyes. She knew he
considered her not an enemy but an opponent. She knew that he never
once thought to ruin her, but control her. She smiled as her
thoughts raged in anger. Sweetly and kindly she answered. "No, I came
to talk." For a long moment he looked puzzled then he smiled. Two
chairs of blackness and table appeared before her. He moved from his
throne to the chair. "Refreshments!"
A woman with red eyes dressed in black, placed food on the table. The
lord's bodyguard, "I included mortal wine as to your taste, Raven."
She nodded, and looked on the Lord of Darkness as he delicately drunk
his wine. Without warning she says,
"I want the Darkness to stop, give up the throne." His wineglass
shatters as it hits the table. His face looks utterly
stricken. "Please, you can’t have earth"
"Why?" He said his voice sad.
"Because you rule it wrongly" Raven voice was quiet. Closes his eyes
sadly and stood up.
"I’m sorry, but you going to have to pry it from my dead hands."
"Please just be content with hell. You will lost this battle as you
did the first." She paused looking away. "I don’t want to kill you."
As he stood his bodyguard came to his side. Devotion was written on
the bodyguard's features. He shook his head,
"No. You will not harm her" He turned to her. "Then don’t stay with
me here, rule with me." she stood as she looked at him. "You once
loved me as a mortal will you not love me now."
"I can’t Lucius." She used his name, the one given to him when he was
mortal.
"It’s been a long time, since anyone said that to me."
Raven stood straight up her fair skin glowed and her green eyes
teared. Lucius merely crossed his arms and spoke a single
sentence. 'I don't suppose you could do a favor for a dying man,
could you?'
"Why should I do you any favors?" At this the He laughed. Raven
hissed at him exposing her fangs. He watched, a unnerving smile on
his face and spoke a single sentence as the death magic was fling at
him. "Because, I have always loved you, Raven Daughter of Demons."
"Yes, I know. I have loved you when you were my priest, now your lord
of darkness, I loved you, I can not love you now, but you can not do
this." Raven continued to look at him. He took her hand, and kissed
her knuckles. He pulled her into his arms, both clinging to each
other before they broke apart. He opened a portal for her, as she
stepped back.
"Goodbye My love." He said.
"Goodbye." She whispered, but she knew he heard her as she stepped
through.
Both Raven and Marius came to the end of a great hall, at the end
there were two large wooden doors. They were carved with the gods of
Greece, the gods of Eve Atlantis. She lifted her thin hands and
destroying the two large doors off there hinges, sending pieces of
wooden shards flying through the air. Marius followed her into a room
where twenty or more men and a few women sat at a table. Looking in
udder shock at her.
"Ladies and gentlemen." She said smiling as she walked over to a dust
covered chair, at the end of the large rectangular table.
"Akara." A tall, thinly built man said at the end of the table said.
He was dressed in white that made him look like he was ill, rather
than making him appear more powerful.
"Zeus." She said shortly, "father"
"There must be a reason, Daughter, that you have decided to come to a
council meeting in many centuries." He said Standing, and walking his
large chair. "And with a vampire as well."
"Yes, there is. It’s the same reason your all gathered here now." A
young man next to Zeus, moved uncomfortably, his eyes drawn out to
hers.
"Apollo, don’t look so uncomfortable. You know as well as I that is
was Lucius that destroyed out home the first time."
"And has he found a way back with you, my love." He said, looking
into her eyes, searching.
"Has it been so long, that you even won’t trust me. My friend." He
looked down.
"No it has not been so long, what do you plan to do about Lucius
though."
"I have killed three of his horsemen." The room roared and then there
voiced rose in discussion.
"Silence." Zeus called out. Slowly it quieted down. "You have kill
three. And what of the last, he is the one with the power to open the
gates of hell to the humans"
"I know this, with a heavy heart Zeus, I have not been able to find
this one man. Lucius had hid him well."
"What are you asking of us." Hera said, who had always hated Akara
for what she was.
"I’m asking all of us to do the right thing and save the mortals."
"So you want us to give up out lives to save your pathetic human, to
save the by fare race of human." Zeus spat out.
"Pathetic." Her voice quivered with calmed anger. "Well, that
pathetic race has become wiser than the king of the gods." She pause
struggling for control. "and you created them, my most beloved."
"They’re weak, so weak some of them had to evolve into more
disgusting creatures." He looked at Marius. "To survive, they all are
a disease." He shouted at her across the table. She stood up.
"At least that disease can feel, is that why you hate them so.
Because they can feel, feel each other. That I could love them
something that you could never do." She whispered dangerously at him.
His face reddened with anger.
"I could never love my own daughter, because she killed the one woman
I ever loved." He through at her, stunned she stumbled back into
Marius. The look on many of the faces in the room was anger mixed
with disgust of their king. Marius touched her arm, and then wrapped
his around her. As if to protect her from her fathers words.
"Sir, how you became the kind of the gods is beyond me. Your
disgusting." Marius whispered to him. Zeus walked around the table to
where he was about ten feet from him and Raven.
"Let go of my daughter." Zeus said, struggling to regain calmness.
"You don’t deserve her." He said as some of Gods rose out of there
chairs.
"By the law of the gods she belongs to me. I’m the one that said she
could leave and now she stays with me." He said pulling out a long
blade from his side.
"I challenge you for her." Marius said letting go of a stunned Raven.
"You will die." Zeus said turning his chin to that air.
"Prove it." Marius said as he guided her to Apollo. He sat her down
in a chair.
"Fine then I will get to kill you. I never got to kill that last one
she loved anyway. He cheated me out and burned in the sun." He
stopped, smiling at Raven. "You call it."
"If I win, let it be known that she had power over the council as you
do and her right of her life be set free as those of a humans."
Marius took off his coat, putting it on a chair. "Well fight with
blades." Silently Raven Stood and handed Marius her blade, it was a
long sword imbedded with ancient writing.
Without warning Zeus Swung his sword at Marius, he raised his
and caught the blades together. Zeus swung again, Marius jumped back,
then sliced the end of the blade on Zeus’s cheek, this wound did not
heal.
"Interesting…So Zeus this would be the Ever Blade." Zeus screamed and
leaped for Raven, she pulled out her dagger, and just as he landed in
front of her, she pushed to blade into his chest.
"How." Zeus said choking as she held him up by her knife.
"You forget father, I still have all that I know, and I still use
it." She pulled the blade out of his still choking body, and let it
fall the floor. She turned to the rest of the gods. They looked
confused and disoriented. Marius walked in front of her and bend down
on one knee, and bowed his head. As he did this the others did this.
A defending silence followed for minutes.
"I am you Queen now, I need all you help, but I will but I will not
force it. Who will stand with me." The room answered.
"I." Raven nodded.
"Good, I will need some of you now. The rest can return with your
followers. Gather an army, we may need to fight, Lucius face to
face." As they started to leave, Apollo said. "Who so you need my
queen?" She looked at the room and then said.
" I will need the services of you Apollo, to direct the warriors of
the gods. Artemis you will teach them to fight. Hephaestus I will
need you to make the weapons. Uranus our creator, I need you to go to
the vampire nation. Tell them of this ask for there help, tell them
of Lucius’s plan. That all for now, the rest find our warriors and
protectors." Raven walked out of the room into her fathers bedroom.
Looking around the room with anger flaring in her eyes she waved her
hand and his room became hers.
"Inventive." Marius said sitting on a chair he looked at her face,
she seemed to have calmed. "Are you all right."
"I’ve been waiting for his death for centuries," she became serious."
But thank you for trying to save me." He stood and went to her.
"I would give my life for you." He said lowering his head.
"Please don’t Marius."
"Why." He asked wrapping his arms around her.
"Because I could not bear it if you did."
"Do I disgust you." She looked up in surprise after she tried to
avoid his eyes.
"No."
"Tell me."
"I loved another once and had to watch him die and then become the
one sole evil. He chose death instead of fighting for his life. I was
to naive to see it them, but I know now."
"Tell me of you past. I will stand by you no matter what you say."
She lowered her eyes and laid her head against his shoulder.
"We escaped form hell, we were all demons you see. We escaped when
the world was new. My family, my other demons that followed my
father, we all escaped through a portal, when I figured out how to
harness that power. We left hell, it was unorganized, all the demons
fighting for power. When we got here, we were alone. We lived in a
part of this world, it was paradise, Atlantis, Eden, whatever it is
called now. Then we saw new life, over the centuries it evolved, and
then some of them became vampires, the first few could breed, but
then they lost that ability, and reproduced by blood sharing. I feel
in love with one of these vampires, his name was Lucius. When my
father found out he would not stand for it, he sent assassins for
him. He spend his last night with me and I watched him, become dust
before my eyes. I thought that that was the end.
But I saw him again, somehow he had taken control of hell. He
found a way back to us, with his minions, they were but a small
legion at the time, but they stormed Eve Atlantis. A war started, I
came to me offered me a position to be his queen. I had to refuse, I
fought him and in the end we all banished him into hell, at the price
of losing Eve Atlantis into hell. He have the power to open the gate
of hell again. His legion, will have turned to a huge army."
"Will he try to take your life."
"I think so, if I die he had total control of my soul." Silence
became them.
